Sustainability
Honest, not green.
We don't stick an eco label on our box. This page shows what we actually do – and what we haven't solved yet.
Read onOur view
For us, sustainability isn't a label. It's a series of small decisions – every day, with every box.
That's why you won't find big promises here, just facts you can check: what goes into our lokum, how big our shipping carton is and how your invoice reaches you.
And because honesty includes the uncomfortable parts, we're just as open about where we're not yet where we'd like to be.
What we do today
Three decisions that already apply.
Each one backed by something concrete.
- 01
Few, real ingredients
The base is always the same: sugar, starch and water, cooked slowly. Then come nuts, rose petals or coconut – and the colour comes from those ingredients, not from a lab. The full ingredient list is printed on every box.
The proof
0 artificial colourings
- 02
Small batches
We cook our lokum in small batches and cut every piece by hand. That way we produce close to what is actually ordered instead of building up large stocks.

Every piece cut by hand
- 03
Digital, not paper
We email your invoice, terms and conditions and cancellation policy as PDFs.

Packaging
A carton that fits.
Our shipping carton is sized for our boxes, so hardly any air travels along with your lokum.
- One lokum box measures 25 × 14 × 3 cm.
- Our shipping carton measures 28 × 16 × 7 cm – exactly 2 boxes fit inside.
- Between box and carton there are only a few centimetres on each side.
Not solved yet
Where we still need to do better.
Anyone who sends sweets across Europe leaves a footprint. So do we. These are the points we haven't solved yet:
- 01
Every parcel causes emissions
Our lokum reaches you by lorry and parcel service. That's why we don't call ourselves climate neutral – not through offsetting either.
- 02
Nuts travel a long way
Pistachios, hazelnuts, almonds and walnuts don't grow on our doorstep. We want to be able to document the origin of every ingredient in full and show it here once we can.
- 03
Printed packaging
Our boxes are printed in colour because they're often given as gifts. Print and material are a trade-off between a beautiful gift and using as little as possible – one we keep reviewing.
How we talk about it
Three rules for this page.
Only what we can prove
We only write what we can back up with numbers, measurements or documents.
No empty labels
No “eco-friendly”, no “climate neutral”, no seals without an audit behind them.
Open to questions
Something missing, or do you see it differently? Write to us – we'll reply personally.
